2011.04.11 - Spijkenisse celebrates highest point Book Mountain

On saturday April 9, also Dutch Day of Estate, Spijkenisse celebrated reaching the highest construction point of its new library the Book Mountain. Aldermen Gert-Jan 't Hart and Kees Dijkman hoisted the flag in top and one thousand balloons were released. Afterwards, the public was allowed a walk through the imposant structure and a bird's eye view from a platform on the construction crane. In the next door church, an exhibition offered further information on the construction, architecture and engineering of the Book Mountain and adjacent plans. The Book Mountain Virtual Scale Model was hereby also first shown in public.

2011.01.17 - First Splash starts realization of Sand Engine

More than 200 guests witnessed the launch of the Sand Engine project in Ter Heijde, South Holland. In a crowded KNRM-barn the first buckets of sand were symbolically thrown into a virtual sea by deputy Lenie Dwarshuis and state secretary Joop Atsma, raising a virtual Sand Engine. Simultaneously, in the background the first dredger started the work to raise the physical Sand Engine. More information about the Sand Engine and the event can be found at Architectenweb and nu.nl.

2010.11.11 - Much discussed landmark presented in Wierden

The municipality of Wierden is preparing for a unique development. On November 11, 300 acquainted the first 3D images of the proposed Van der Valk hotel at the local A35 junction. The Virtual Scale Model was hereby praised as a highly informative tool. For each question, the corresponding position was located in the 3D model.
