Railway

The railway area in Goes, covering a large area of the city centre, will see profound changes in the upcoming years. Improvements to the railway tracks, crossroads and the eastern part of the railway station area are currently being researched. In a later phase also the western part will be taken on. The Virtual Scale Model is being used for the communication of the plans towards all stakeholders.

Third dimension

"The Virtual Scale Model is vital for projects where the third dimension is a key element", says Ad Potter, Senior Project Leader at the municipality of Goes. "Especially for non-technicians and outsiders, the Virtual Scale Model provides an excellent notion about dimensions and proportions. That is very enlightening."

City Council

"The city council wasn't really up to yet another time consuming Powerpoint presentation during their meetings. The contemporary and smooth routing through the Virtual Scale Model with only brief explanations of critical issues has certainly helped them in their decision making. This way, a minimum amount of useful discussion and meeting time had to be invested, providing both satisfaction and confidence in the plans."

Inhabitants

"Also for many residents it was immediately clear what the area will look like. There were hardly any questions about distances and dimensions. The Virtual Scale Model spoke for itself on a human scale."

Advice

"My advice to other project managers dealing with projects involving large railway areas is to definitely use this instrument for their communication. It has proven itself to provide surprisingly versatile application possibilities."
