The Virtual Scale Model of Veerhaven has been updated a couple of times in support of new designs.
More information can be found on the Veerhaven website.
Arcus Projectontwikkeling is redeveloping the former Veerhaven terrain in Kruiningen, the Netherlands. Along the Westerschelde coastline a boulevard with a series of buildings is being constructed, housing 74 luxury appartments. These buildings shelter a new residential area with 183 family houses in different price categories on spatious plots. Because of the size of the plan, development has been planned in several phases. The Virtual Scale Model functions as an integral sales instrument throughout all of the phases.
"Because of the size of the project and the structure of Veerhaven, the choice for a Virtual Scale Model was an easy one." says Michèle Agerbeek, Senior Project Manager at Arcus Projectontwikkeling. The project is being realised in the former departure area of a ferry service. Thorough civil works have rendered the old location unrecognizable. In order to inform customers about the final appearance of the area, the visualization of the plan is an essential factor."
"The Virtual Scale Model has proven its value in several occasions. During the design phase it has appointed certain design issues that didn't come to attention when we inspected the drawings. Because of that, we were able to make a few changes and improve the final product. During the sales phase the Virtual Scale Model was used extensively. Many people have problems understanding a dwelling from drawings. The Virtual Scale Model makes you believe you actually walk the streets, causing the dwellings and plan to come alive, sparking everyone's imagination."
